In juggling terms, cascade refers to passing objects directly from hand to hand, such that the balls, clubs, rings, knives or whatever travel from one hand to the other in a continuous circle. If the juggler changes directions, it is called a "reverse cascade".

According to the Second College Edition of the American Heritage Dictionary, "Cascade" can be "a waterfall, or series of waterfalls, over steep rocks", or "a succession or series of processes, operations, or units".  In referring to electricity,  "cascade" is defined as "a series of components or networks, the output of each of which serves as the input for the next".

After more than seventeen years of Resort Ownership it seems that we have frequently traversed steep rocks, and, through a long succession of processes, often find that we have come full circle. Although we refer to this as "management" it is not always clear who is driving and who is going along for the ride.  And, there seems to be a never-ending string of surprises (or balls to keep in the air).

 Most of our activities are straight-forward.  Many are challenging.  Some are frustrating. Others are conflictual. A very few are un-solvable   Although we have been known to say, "visit a resort, don't buy one", nevertheless we still enjoy it and come back renewed each Spring.  Our crews have been remarkable, and our children will assuredly enjoy this awesome "extended family" throughout their lives.

Most certainly not in chronological order, or logical sequence, we have learned to juggle the following activities and agency interactions (and we thought it would be simple):

“FREE TIME”?                        AND THE LIST GOES ON...

Probably doesn't seem much different from your daily lives - but there really are a lot of components involved in creating a happy, healthy resort (and home) environment - and it takes a fair amount of effort to keep it that way.  So move the juggling objects around, and play in our arena for awhile.  Then smile a lot, and support our staff when you're up at Echo Lake, that's what keeps us going, and going and .........
